The Tree of Life in this tattoo is flanked by two protecting Irish Wolfhounds, with the entire knotting linked and interwoven with an oval border, making it an integrated shield.
Equity Knot Tattoo Design
A balanced Celtic protection knot and ring, a strong symbol for a teacher, here used to cover a regrettable "tribal" symbol long past its appreciation date.
Maeshowe Dragon Wolf Tattoo Design
Maeshowe is a neolithic chambered tomb located in Orkney, in far Northern Scotland. Built around 2800BC, 5,000 years ago. The most stunning of the stone carvings within is this mysterious chimera of a beast, a dragon/wolf. Vikings broke into the mound in the 12th century and left the largest collection of runic inscriptions outside Scandinavia. It is wonderful viking grafitti. One is 'Ingigerth is the most beautiful of women'.! They also carved this splendid possible dragon, though some say it is a wolf. The saga written about Orkney tells of a raiding party sheltering inside the mound in a snowstorm, so you can imagine bored vikings writing on the walls while they waited for it to clear.
Draco Tattoo Design
A Nordic style dragon tangled above a Icelandic vegvisir symbol. Fit to coil and writhe around an arm or leg.
