Celtic Wolf and Wolfhound Tattoo Torc

The traditional Celtic warriors' necklace is a torc, a thick band (preferably made of gold) and open in the front. In this version one side is the dire wolf, the other the Irish Wolfhound, the two sides of the warrior's personality. This Navy seal came in on his leave from duty in Afghanistan and got the ethnic body armor that will see him through what he hopes will be the last tour of duty our service-people have to do there. May he wear it well and come home safe to his family.

Celtic 'Horse Feathers' Tattoo

Horse feathers! An equestrienne came in today wanting Celtic horses, so we made an anklet of two with noses touching and front legs crossed, with their body knots woven into an anklet, and the graceful addition of a feather draped across the top of the foot, to add movement as she walks out.

Two Celtic stallions weave seamlessly into a knotwork band, shown here as an anklet with a feather swaying from it.

Pictish 'Boar Lord' Tattoo

I feel compelled to out this returning client as a policeman with an excellent sense of humor, who embraces his inner boar, who gave me a chance to tattoo this Pictish pattern for the first time in color, with the spirals not just waves but the Thin Blue Line of law enforcement.

'Dark Powers' Celtic Ravens Tattoo

Today's client had an engineer's eye for detail and a fondness for ravens, so we combined two designs he liked into this custom one. The challenge was to combine representational raven heads with knot work necks and shoulders, working down to an abstract pattern representing flight feathers and tails. Now HIS challenge is enjoying making up replies to the questions about what it means!
