Today the first bird of the year is a request by a son to match the parrot I did on his father twenty years ago. The dad came with him and paid for it, modeling his chest tattoo, and we went to my reference material hoping to find the original art. Because I am an art packrat the image was located in a book of classic avian paintings and once again the bird has come to life in skin.
