Family Tree of Life Celtic Tattoo Design

A custom family tree of life added as a tribute to a father, who passed away and is represented by the falling leaf. The leaves in the canopy represent children, the continuing generation, and the roots are the tie to heritage. Woven into the roots is an infinity symbol, for the continuity of the family through the years. It is placed above a Celtic knot done decades ago, and the birth and death dates of family members.

Spring of Life Celtic Tree of life

When this gal was 15 she went to a party where she got high, made a bad choice, and had a random vagrant tattoo a butterfly on her upper arm. The next day she regretted it, and several years later had a doctor cut out the ink, leaving a butterfly shaped scar (inset) that she dressed to conceal for the next 35 years. Today, a tree of life is a symbol of her turning a regret into a thing of beauty.

Today a proud mother of two little boys came for this tattoo. The central symbol represents her and her sons. We designed it 4 years ago, but she was nursing at the time and I asked her to return when she was done. Finally today it is installed. A unity of triples of Celtic triskeles and triskelions, with the Celtic symbol for motherhood in the center.
