Magic Tree Tribal Tattoo Design

This client wanted a tree to symbolize his commitment to his family, and has strong ancestral ties to Dutch Indonesia. When I asked him to provide me with reference material of designs that resonated with him, he sent examples of the splendid tattoo art of Aman Durga Sipatiti. This inspirational Sarawak Borneo art is filled with spiral forms, so similar to the Pictish and Celtic patterns I love. It was a pleasure to look at them as I created this custom piece.

Lover of Dragons Tattoo with Celtic Design

Two classic European style dragons coil in and out, and a central element of a knotwork heart ties them together. It can be done in any set of colors or in black and grey. It makes a lace-like effect, covering the skin with a light tracery of knots.

Mysterious Pictish Glyph Tattoo Design

Mysterious Pictish glyphs on the Brandsbutt stone, located in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The carvings date to around 600AD, and represent a crescent and V-rod above a river eel and z-rod.

This petroglyph silhouette of a California condor graces the ceiling of one such cave near Santa Barbara and makes a strikingly powerful tattoo.
