This carving of two spirals is on a very ancient gravestone inside Quinn Abbey on the West Coast of Ireland, and I cannot explain it. I think it is astronomical in nature, and I'd like to think it marks the grave of a particularly holy monk who watched the heavens. The spirals have a great optical quality, like a moire pattern.
