The amazingly complex spiral panel from the Shandwick Stone, in Easter Ross Shire, Scotland, has been morphed to fit an arm or leg. It makes a continuous pattern that links up to make a full sleeve. The magnificent Clach a' Charridh Stone is a Class II Pictish stone located near Shandwick on the Tarbat peninsula. This pattern is adapted from an intricate carved circle of spirals on the landward side of the stone slab. The spiral is the signature decorative ornament used in Celtic art, and is the symbol for creation and growth.
