The center of this tattoo was done 8 years ago, and it was a big step for the client then, a first tattoo. But now he was ready for more, so we added the custom knotwork and spirals forming a ring around it, tuned up the old piece a bit so they are equally black, and sprinkled a bit of dotting between to make it all tie together as a whole.
It was very hard to photograph because it spans the cap of the shoulder, a very unusual placement but one that gives a strong sculptural quality and has the body armor look many people resonate with.
