Today a man requested a Celtic sword flanked with a pair of cats representing the duality of experience, the benign and the fierce. With the quality of a family crest, his idea of a sword cutting through chaos is here united with a triquetra from which flames are rising and creating light and clarity.
Mother's & Father's Family Crest Tattoos
Today a client returned after 9 years to complete a promise to himself. He had come to me way back then to get his father's Devlin family crest, and almost immediately realized he wanted to get his mother's Sullivan crest also. It took a long time, but when his work sent him back West from New York this week it was time to finally time to get the second crest on the other arm. It was difficult to render all those tiny animals in a relatively small tattoo, but it had to be done!
Celtic War Dog Band
Today a man requested a custom dog band for his shin, an unusual placement that we made more effective by placing a knot on the front center and also at the back. The calf is a great place for a tattoo, the taut skin lets me do highly precise line-work. In this case the lines, wicker shading, and dots give a variety of textures and tones.
'Eternal Tree' Celtic Tattoo
Today a returning client opted to get this unique tree of life, a blending of Celtic and Nordic styles. The compelling symbol has been present in many cultures across the ages, and now is a very popular tattoo design.
The precision of Celtic knot work and the wild style of the Vikings are united in this tree of life tattoo design that draws strength from the earth and rises to the heavens.
